It's got wooden sheaves, which also helps to date this back to an earlier time. This is all forged steel and wood with a woven hemp rope around it. There are no nuts, bolts, or screws so in the research I have done would date this back to the 17th or 18th century. There are normal signs of wear from usage and age.
There is a crack/break to one of the sheaves. It measures 25 1/2 in total length. It's about 18 1/2 without the hook. From outside of rope to outside of rope, it's 8 wide across. The sheaves are approximately 5 in diameter. Great piece for anyone that collects! The item "Big Early 18th c.
