This is an original antique (late 19th to early 20th century) cast iron hay trolley marked Strickler's and numbered 71 on one side and MFG. D Janesville, WIS and numbered 70 on the other side.

Condition is very good considering age; all the wheels turn, there are no cracks or repairs, the trolley swivels at the bottom as intended, and there is just a little bit of green paint left on it that adds a little character. The entire piece has acquired a rusty, aged patina, and the clamp inside that would hold the drop pulley is intact but seems to be frozen in place. All parts appear to be pretty straight, but the arms could be slightly bent (not noticeably). This trolley was made to ride on an iron rail, not a barn timber.

It measures 16" L at the top, 12" H, and 6 in diameter near the bottom. There is 2 3/4 of space between the ridges on the wheels at each end for the rail to fit through.
