Antique Primitive Cast Iron Stowell Open Throat Hay Trolley Carrier Unloader

This is a rare original antique (early 20th century) Stowell Open Throat rail runner hay trolley with patent date of 1908. The finish is not original; it was painted gold at some point but the paint is not fresh. One of the wheels on the bottom is pretty badly chipped (shown close-up in photo 10), but the remainder of the trolley looks solid, there are no cracks or repairs anywhere, and it swivels in the middle as intended. Three of the wheels on top are frozen and do not turn, but the other three wheels on the trolley are free. The trolley weighs about 23 pounds and measures 16" across the top, 9 1/2" H, and 6 1/4 W across the opening at the bottom.
