Other casting numbers shown in photos as well. This old piece of farming history has very small traces of old paint (some red and some green) and surface rust. Wood pulley parts show age, but overall still intact. This trolley would ride along a track at the top ridge of the barn.
Most hay trolleys were put in when the barn was raised and stay there until the barn is taken down. Since the center pulley regularly was down at ground level, it is hard to find a whole set that has not been separated. The center pulley would ride on a rope and lift a sling or harpoon to lift the hay from the wagon up into the loft. Measures approximately 20" x 14" (with pulley) x 8 - very heavy cast iron. No cracks or breaks or repairs that I see & all parts that should spin or move are free. Don't miss your chance to add this piece from the days of old to your collection! Please examine pictures with zoom feature - pictures show condition. I do clean up the items a little for the pictures, but I leave thorough cleaning to the new owner since patina from age and use, once removed, cannot be replaced.
I describe items to the best of my ability and try to be very objective in my wording. I take lots of pictures as well, and they are intended to be part of the description. If you have a question that is not addressed in the photos or wording - please ask and I will answer to the best of my ability.
