Antique Meneely Bell Winch

This Winch was owned by my father who was a great collector of bells. Through his efforts he was fortunate to have had an acquaintance with the Meneely family. This Bell Winch was acquired from the Meneely family and proudly displays the Meneely name etched/burnt on each side as shown in the pictures.

The machine is in good condition considering its age and has been in storage for many years. Meneely was one of the greatest bell makers in American history and founder of the world-class Meneely Bell Foundry in 1826 in West Troy (known today as Watervliet), New York. The Meneely Bell foundry was thought of as the "Tiffany of bells" and produced 75,000 bells in 125 years. The Foundry remained a family operation until its closure in 1952.
