Antique Wood Beam Hay Trolley - unknown maker. This trolley would ride along a wood beam at the top ridge of the barn.
Most hay trolleys were put in when the barn was raised and stay there until the barn is taken down. Some think of them as the "soul" of the barn. No breaks or repairs that I see - most of the wheels are stuck but center swivel is free.Hese just don't show up very often so don't let this one get away! This is a nice size for display or use - put simple drop-light fixture with this and rub it down with a little oil or rust inhibitor to bring out the rich brown patina and you have a great steam-punk fixture.
