For your consideration is this. Rare antique Circa 1871 primitive dory roller or pulley. This fishing tool helped New England George's Banks dory fishermen pull up their trawl lines that were loaded with fish. The dory roller was installed on the outer edge of the boat. The pulley is made of forged steel and wood and is in very good used condition. There are a couple of small cracks in the wood. There is heavy wear to the writing on the brass center plate. What is legible reads as follows; "TORRE, MPD ROLL, 1871". The pulley measures 13 1/2" in total length, 3 1/4" in width with a wooden mahogany? The ultimate pulley for any collector or maritime history buff. The item "Antique C 1871 Rare Dory Fishing Roller Pulley Block & Tackle Maritime Nautical" is in sale since Monday, November 11, 2019.
